May the good Lord in his abundant and providential love bless you all this day. May he make us mindful of the gratitude we owe him and each other. For all the rich blessings of faith, hope, and charity which mark us as disciples of Christ, may we celebrate the holy Eucharist – the great act of thanksgiving – with sincere hearts and join our voices in prayerful thanks for every good gift.

Last Saturday, our high school Cénaculo Youth Program visited the residents at the Little Sisters of the Poor Jeanne Jugan House. While there, they sang songs with the residents, visited with them to hear their stories, and prayed with them. It was a blessed opportunity to perform a Work of Mercy — visit the sick — with elderly brothers and sisters in Christ!

"In December 2020, Christ led a raging leftist with horrible misconceptions about how to heal this broken world and an overconfident atheist with a desire to love better together over a backyard fire, and 4.5 years later, on Easter 2025, we were both baptized into the Catholic Church. The miracle He worked for our salvation is only just the start."
"That night...I stood lost in thought, waiting patiently along with my OCIA classmates, resolute and relaxed as we were initiated into the Catholic Church by receiving the Sacraments of Baptism, Communion and Confirmation. It was a solemn occasion of introspection reverence and silent celebration which I had never before experienced in my life."
Peter Catama has served as the Parish Secretary at St. Ann Catholic Church for nearly 10 years. He retired on July 31, 2025, noting: “Serving at this church has been one of the greatest privileges of my life. The experiences and lessons gained serving the congregation have enriched my faith and strengthened my walk with Christ. Please pray for me and my family. My prayers will remain with St. Ann Church, its leadership, and its mission to glorify God.”
"As I continued researching, contemplating and wrestling with which church to join, the issue that largely helped lead me toward choosing the Catholic Church was the office of the papacy."
Over the past few years, the ARK has been a place where I have been able to grow so much more than I thought possible. Jesus has used the ARK to call me deeper and deeper into relationship with Him, gifting me incredible opportunities and allowing me to do what I love.

As pastor of St. Ann Church in Northwest Washington, Rev. Msgr. James D. Watkins has also been teaching undergraduates as a lecturer in philosophy at The Catholic University of America since 1990. After 35 years of teaching at his alma mater where he earned his Bachelors and Masters degrees in philosophy, he has decided it’s time to retire from that part-time service. “It has been a wonderful experience to teach so many students and to help to open their minds to good, critical thinking,” he said.

Thank you to all our dedicated volunteers who helped us raise more than $880 for our parish! This was our highest turnout—and our first Parish Pierogi Dinner since 2022! We want to give a special shout out to Tracy Fitzgerald and her daughter Natalie who did all of the cooking, and saved the day and got more pierogies in the kitchen when we ran out! Thank you for your help and support.
