Some highlights from our Fourth Annual St. Ann’s Flea Market:
We hosted it over two days, Saturday (9am to 5pm) and Sunday (9am to 3pm), with a 50% off sale on Sunday.
Donations included many treasures and nice items (Waterford, Tiffany, fine china, silver, and other). All high-end donations were sold.
We had an increase in attendance over last year, with a steady flow of shoppers throughout both days, which started with more than 100 people waiting in line before the doors opened on Saturday at 9!
We saw a mix of parishioners, other local Catholic church parishioners, community members, students, and others, many of whom thanked us for hosting the event and noting that they look forward to it and marked their calendars. Many came both days to take advantage of the discounts on Sunday. Many parishioners expressed gratitude for the opportunity to get involved.
All leftover items were donated to Goodwill and select clothing (anything they wanted) to a community outreach group run by AU Law School students called Equal Justice Foundation.
We were able to raise more than $15K through our sales. Our exact total raised was $15,175.20. This is a $6K or 66% increase over last year's sales!
This event could not have happened without all the support of our volunteers:
The Knights of Columbus hosted a table with free coffee and donuts and membership information both days.
The Mother Butler Guild once again cooked their delicious food and sold it on Saturday and Sunday. They also helped with some of the last-minute preparations on Saturday morning before the doors opened.
Troop 100 had scouts on hand during the move of donations into the gym.
The Youth Program representation was there during prep, the event, and post event.
The Parish Council was fully represented and instrumental through the preparations, sales and close out.
Parishioners were there, dedicating many hours throughout the event. They had the opportunity to get to know one another, share their talents, and really enjoyed being a part of this event.
A very special thank you to Msgr. Watkins, Natalie, Rae Ann, Leo, Gonzalo, Manuel and Santos for all of their hard work and dedication to make this happen. We cannot do this event without their support!
Sincerely, The Flea Market Committee, Elizabeth Snee, Susan Gibbs, Liza Lindenberg and James Benton
