Members of the Ministry see Christ in those who live with a mental illness and seek to make the parish a place where individuals living with mental health challenges feel safe, supported and have a sense of belonging. This ministry will provide spiritual accompaniment and support for people with cancer, cancer survivors, as well as those who care for them. The objective of this ministry will be to accompany people with this disease by listening compassionately to their stories and sharing our own. The topics we will cover will include stigma, treatment, recovery, companionship, self-care, and coping. All this is a reminder that you are not alone and that you have a parish community that will accompany you and pray with and for you.
Drop off today before and after all Masses in the Church near the piano! We welcome sellable small to medium-sized new or gently used items. Examples: household and tabletop items, holiday décor, clean clothing, jewelry and accessories (vintage to newer/never worn), toys, books, art, outdoor items, kids’ items, lamps, sports, games, lawn items, small furniture, etc. We also can use clean shopping and grocery bags and packing paper for customer purchases, and clean plastic storage bins to help with sorting (please let us know before you bring them). This year St. Ann DC is again one of the venues hosting Art All Night, an annual Tenleytown nighttime festival! Our talented organist Bob Bright will perform and demonstrate the power of our incredible Létourneau organ at 7:30pm, followed by an up-close guided tour of the organ and choir loft. Staff member Natalie Lucey will host an 8:30pm history and architecture tour. For music and tours, please enter at the front door of the Church, at the corner of Wisconsin and Nebraska Avenues NW. The Parish School of Religion (PSR) provides catechetical instruction to children in grades K-8. Parish religion programs also prepare youth for the reception of first sacraments. For over 150 years with hundreds of students, our program hopes to assist parents in the faith formation of their children. Click here to register your child for our Parish School of Religion! Tuition increases after Sept. 19.
Teens in grades 6-8 meet in the Collins Room. Teens in grades 9-12 meet in the Gym. Our weekly gatherings focus on service, social and spiritual engagements. We also have formation and food!
