The St. Ann Social Outreach Committee wishes to share this Open Letter written by Willy Escobar, Social Justice Coordinator at the Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle. We believe that it beautifully states the role of service to others in our faith life, and captures what motivates us in our new ministry. We want to thank all parishioners who donated books, volunteered before, during and after the Artisan Market, and all who shopped at the Market. We could not have done it without everyone’s help!

The Social Outreach Committee wishes to thank all parishioners for their generous support of the Summer Snack Drive to assist our unhoused neighbors who frequent the Welcome Center at Friendship Place, located at 4713 Wisconsin Ave NW. We also wanted to share information about the history of Friendship Place, especially about its connection to St. Ann DC.

We raised $2,500+ for Friendship Place and their life-changing work to end homelessness in our community. You can still contribute: Click here! Join us in making a difference! We're walking to end homelessness in DC, one step at a time.

You helped us to raise $324.56 for our Youth Program! We will use this funding in the near future for scholarships for our youth to subsidize retreats, pilgrimages, and more. Thank you immensely to all who donated, helped and supported us. Click here to view photos and videos of the event!

Thanks to you, more than 265 kids in need had Christmas gifts this year through Angel Tree, and more than 110 unhoused received home essentials through our shoebox donations. THANK YOU! Click here to view more photos.

We were able to raise a grand total of $9,160.35 — through cash, credit, and vendor sales — to benefit our parish’s youth and community programs! This is a 14% increase from last year. To you, reader, thank you for your support!

On Saturday, April 27, parishioners Brian Shell, Debbie Grieser, Mary Agnes Carey, Jadranka Gerrety, Aicha Cisse and Olivia Wise-Dent joined the Friendship Place Walk on the National Mall to end homelessness. Their St. Ann DC Team collectively raised $1,003 (and counting) to benefit Friendship Place!
