Cardinal Robert McElroy was installed as the eighth Archbishop of The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington in a ceremony on March 11, 2025, at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C. The liturgy was at 1:30 p.m. EDT, with a Procession of local and visiting Cardinals, Bishops and Clergy. Mass began at 2 p.m. Click here to view the Mass livestream link.

The Washington Opera Chorus performed at St. Ann Catholic Church, in Northwest DC, on Sunday, March 2, 2025. Their splendid performance raised more than $10,000 for artists in need through the AGMA Relief Fund. Learn more: https://agmarelief.org/

As the year comes to a close, this serves me the opportunity to ask God’s choicest blessings upon each of you and your families. May the Christ Child whom we long to see for ourselves one day in the Bethlehem of heaven find his Heart burning brightly in our own now and in the coming year.

We need children for our Christmas Eve Pageant at the 5:00pm Mass on Sunday, December 24! A required rehearsal will take place at 10:00am on December 23 in the Church. Children ages Pre-K and older can participate as a shepherd, Magi, or other non-speaking role. Kids over 5 may participate as readers. Contact us!

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our Troop 100 DC and Pack 100 Pancake Breakfast! We collected more than 790 pounds of food!

We were able to raise a grand total of $9,160.35 — through cash, credit, and vendor sales — to benefit our parish’s youth and community programs! This is a 14% increase from last year. To you, reader, thank you for your support!

Established in 1989, the year 2024 marks their 35-year anniversary at our parish. The more than 50 female members vacuum the parish after all Masses, tidy up the pews, clean the church laundry and organize fundraisers — they even donated the newly renovated kitchen in the basement of our church! Thank you!

A complete catalogue of women who have contributed to Catholic Culture would include the following women, among whom, some made such contributions in addition to fulfilling other pressing obligations.

Mary Natalie Leftwich passed away peacefully on April 26, 2024. We offer the 11:00am Mass on Sunday, May 19 for her. Mary devoted her entire life to educating children, having taught Kindergarten and 1st grade for most of her career. She impacted the lives of hundreds of children in the over 45 years she taught. She retired in 2012 from St. Ann’s Academy where she had worked most of her career.

On Saturday, April 27, an enthusiastic crowd of 70 or so attendees across 4+ parishes (and Lebanon!) watched The Chosen Season 4 Premiere at the Knights Hall. The screening and follow-up discussion led by Fr. Gary was well received. More showings to come!

On Saturday, April 27, parishioners Brian Shell, Debbie Grieser, Mary Agnes Carey, Jadranka Gerrety, Aicha Cisse and Olivia Wise-Dent joined the Friendship Place Walk on the National Mall to end homelessness. Their St. Ann DC Team collectively raised $1,003 (and counting) to benefit Friendship Place!
